We are in apocalyptic (unveiling) times. If they are not the end times, they are at least the end of our times of Christian civilization. The katechōn (restrainer) is ceasing to restrain.

This is a journal of those end times, whose purpose is to articulate a new theory of universal history that sheds light on this eschatological moment by drawing from the pure fountain of Sacred Scripture, the Church Fathers, the Saints, and the teaching of the Church.

And you know what is τὸ κατέχον [restraining him] now so that he may be revealed in his time. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now ὁ κατέχων [restrains] it will do so until he is out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, and the Lord Jesus will slay him with the breath of his mouth and destroy him by his appearing and his coming.

—St. Paul (2 Thess. 2:6-8)

#11: Most Christians (including Catholics) Embrace the Agenda of Antichrist Outlined by St. John Henry Cardinal Newman

St. John Henry Cardinal Newman described what he saw as a burgeoning movement of apostasy among Christian nations—perhaps a harbinger of the Great Apostasy. In its various features, he saw the agenda of Antichrist at work.

#10—Types of the Anti-Church, False Prophet, Antichrist, Church, and Abomination of Desolation in the Old Testament?

In the books of Maccabees—books whose events are widely linked with Daniel’s prophesies, and thus likely reveal a type of the end times—we have a False High Priest, Menelaus (the “False Prophet”), escorting Antiochus (the “Antichrist”) into the Jerusalem Temple (the “Church”) to desecrate it (the “Abomination of Desolation”). This in turn leads to the cessation of the daily sacrifice prophesied by Daniel (what many Church Fathers and Catholic theologians argue will be the cessation of the public sacrifice of the Eucharist in the mass), and arguably the worst persecution of faithful Jews up to that time (the “Great Tribulation”) on the part of apostate Jews (the “Anti-Church”) who are allied with pagan Greeks (the “world”).

#9—George Washington’s Masonic Dedication of the U.S. Capitol Building

On September 18, 1793, a unique and disturbing ceremony took place in the new capital of the youthful United States. The cornerstone of the new Capitol building was laid, and the ceremony for the occasion was led by none other than President George Washington.

But the ceremony was rather unique: it was Freemasonic, and conducted by Freemasons, most notably Washington himself,
